This blog is a space for me, Greta, a Film Production and Japanese language student to review films and talk about my experiences in Japan. Previously I have spent 11 months when I was 17 in Japan on exchange at a High school in Hyogo prefecture and then 8 months in 2011 on a working holiday in Okinawa. This time I will be going to Japan to study at Kanazawa University for a year and (hopefully) complete a research project on motherhood in Japan.
I used to follow a number of blogs when I was younger that would review Asian cinema and television but many of the ones I loved have now disappeared. So I'm hoping this will be a useful resource for fans of Asian cinema.
Although the majority of the films will be Japanese I don't think I'll be able to resist looking at some Korean greats and others here and there from other parts of Asia. That's why I decided to name the blog 'A-GA ASIA' which is a play on the Japanese word for film 'Eiga' (映画).
